PRODUCER John Frost has a secret
weapon in the fierce battle for Australia's entertainment dollar -
former Australia's Next Top Model host Erika Heynatz.
At the first day of rehearsals for Legally Blonde: The Musical in Sydney yesterday, the theatre impresario acknowledged the importance of the "big name stars" in any line-up. "Australia loves its celebrities," he said, introducing a cast that includes Heynatz and Australian Idol finalist Rob Mills.
Heynatz plays exercise queen Brooke Taylor Wyndham in her first stage role.
"Naturally, there is a little bit of white knuckling going on," Heynatz said at the ABC rehearsal studio in Ultimo yesterday.
"But it's also the most exciting thing I have ever done, hands down."
An added bonus, said the blonde model, was Legally Blonde's clever subversion of certain pervasive myths.
"Being in the industry I have been in, you are constantly judged for your appearance and often not in the right way," she said.
